Internet investment analyst Roland Perry has begun covering Platinum Studios in his popular online newsletter, "Hollywood Stock Review Online." Here's an excerpt from the latest newsletter, featuring the news on our recently-announced deal with Valhalla Motion Pictures:

Platinum Studios (PDOS) Announces Deal to Co-Develop and Produce a Feature Film with Powerful Hollywood Producer.*

Lot's of companies in Hollywood announce that they are going to produce a feature film. Most go direct to DVD, many more don't even get that far. So merely announcing that your making a film, isn't all that big of a deal in itself. We're on the same page as you, so don't stop reading yet.

Now...

How many times, if ever, do you see a publicly traded company whose shares sell for under a dollar, announce that they are "doing" the film with SAME producer who is also producing a film for another publicly traded company whose shares are selling for over $30, are listed on the NYSE and have a market value of $2.7 billion. Which is of course Marvel Entertainment (NYSE: MVL) and which just so coincidentally -- also got its start in animation (i.e. Marvel Comics).

Well that's exactly what Platinum Studios just announced.

The producer is Gale Anne Hurd, who is right now (and has been for 20 years) your genuine "powerful" Hollywood producer. It starts in 1984 with "Terminator" which she also co-wrote with James Cameron. Then she did "Aliens" two years later. Then the "Abyss" in 1989 and the Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 (3 alone did $420 million) and in fact she had 2 films in 2003 which together grossed $660 million -- and it just doesn't stop. She next did the first "The Hulk" which did $240 million for Universal (NYSE:GE) and Marvel and now she's doing the follow up.

"All praise, Gale Anne Hurd."

Really, how often does a publicly-traded company whose shares sell for under a dollar, get to team up with someone of that stature? How do you even get someone like her on the phone? Isn't she aware their stock is trading on the bulletin board?

Of course she (and her team of legal advisers) are. So our point is, "just imagine the possibilities." Where might this stock be in a few years ?

Whatever it is you're thinking about the "reputation" of Platinum Studios (PDOS) in Hollywood, which is primarily based on its having a $0.15 stock -- just toss those thoughts right out the window. These people have reputation for miles.

And one other item. We've mentioned before that Platinum has a library of 5600 "items" which they can exploit. The deal with Gale Anne Hurd is called "Final Orbit." Final Orbit is a "soon-to-be-published" action thriller comic and the graphic novel isn't even slated for release by Platinum Studios Comics until early 2009. How did they pull that off?

Now of course, you never know "if" something that is announced will be produced, will actually get produced (getting the actors, getting the financing etc). But you tell us, what are the odds with Gale Anne producing ? Someone who has done more than two dozen feature films, that have generated billions of dollars of revenue. Bets anyone?

And in case you missed it, while they are working on the above, they are also working on Unique, Atlantis Rising, Cowboys and Aliens, Dead of Night and Witchblade -- and all with major motion picture companies:

"Platinum Studios' film and TV division has other properties in development at major film studios, including "Unique" at Walt Disney Pictures (NYSE: DIS) with "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman, "Atlantis Rising" at DreamWorks with Kurtzman/Orci ("Transformers") and "Cowboys and Aliens," written by "Iron Man" screenwriters Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby, also at Dreamworks in association with Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Platinum Studios also recently announced it's partnering with Hyde Park Entertainment to co-produce "Dead of Night," based on the beloved Italian comic book series, Dylan Dog and a partnership with Top Cow Productions and Arclight Films to co-produce Witchblade, based on the best-selling independent comic book title."

It's like wow...these folks are busy (and wow, who's better than us)!
