Media Release -- Due to low pre-order numbers, Diamond Comics cancelled distribution of THE F1RST HERO before the scheduled release of Issue 2 of the WEDNESDAY'S CHILD story arc. Our publisher, Action Lab Entertainment, relayed news of this decision to me late last week.
So, what does this mean for Volume 3?
I still believe in THE F1RST HERO. I believe in the story I've written and in the art that Marco Renna and Fred Stresing have created. I believe that we've put together something exciting that deserves to reach an audience. More than ever, I want to bring this book to everyone.
So I've decided to let all of you decide.
As of today (Monday July 18th), we have 10 days left in the campaign and we are approaching the 60% funded mark. If the Kickstarter reaches its full funding goal of $4000 CDN (approx $3000 USD), we will finish the book. Every dime of the money this Kickstarter raises will be going into production, printing and shipping. Any costs not covered by the Kickstarter will come out of my pocket, but we need to hit that $4000 goal for production to continue past this point.
Without mass distribution to comic shops, the only way to get printed copies of WEDNESDAY'S CHILD will be directly from us. If the Kickstarter succeeds, we can and will get this story into your hands. I'm still hopeful that we can reach and surpass the $4000 goal and make everyone proud that they contributed their hard-earned cash to make this dream into something real.
So please, share this announcement and the campaign with your friends. The more people who get involved, the better our chances of saving the book. And now more than ever before, if you are considering making a pledge, please do so and help support THE F1RST HERO!

ABOUT THE SERIES
Everyone who develops superpowers goes insane. The government has ruled these so-called EXTRAHUMANS a danger to society, stripping them of all human rights and forming a military unit, the U.S. EXTRAHUMAN TASK FORCE, to hunt them down. And then there's JAKE ROTH.
When Jake manifests extrahuman powers --but somehow keeps his sanity-- he must decide whether to put himself at risk by using his powers to save people or to hide his new abilities while innocent people he could have helped are hurt around him every day.
In Volume 3, WEDNESDAY'S CHILD, Jake faces a new kind of threat: an 8-YEAR OLD GIRL with the extrahuman power to control minds but she is not acting alone. She is taking orders from her cruel and greedy mother. This unlikely criminal pair start using the little girl's powers to force people into carrying out a shocking spree of larceny and revenge across Philadelphia. Jake, just back from his adventure in the ACTIONVERSE mini-series, must track down the duo, stop their assault on the city and, hopefully, save the young girl from her vicious, controlling mother.
