Marvel’s horror comics took center stage as buyers took to eBay for what could be a key first appearance in the MCU.

It’s time to dig into the Hottest Comics index and see what titles were feeling the love from buyers. Based on sales volume, the list is comprised of the 100 best-selling single issues across eBay. The fun part is diving deeper into the rankings to see what surprising finds await.

38. GIANT-SIZE CHILLERS #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

We don’t know what is coming for the Blade reboot, but there has been speculation from practically day one that Dracula will be the main antagonist. Then again, he was also predicted for Moon Knight, and we see how that went. With all the Dracula speculation, it’s not surprising that Lilith’s first appearance has reared its head on the Hottest Comics index.

It stands to reason that we could see her with or without her famous father. That would explain why Giant-Size Chillers #1 has suddenly climbed so high in the rankings.

77. BLOODSTONE #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Speaking of the horror corner of the MCU, Elsa Bloodstone’s first appearance returned to the Hottest Comics index this week. With so much talk of vampires in the MCU, it doesn’t hurt this issue’s importance that Nosferatu was first spotted in the Marvel Universe in Bloodstone #1.

How either character will fit into the overall MCU is anyone’s guess, but Elsa is a shoo-in to return the next time we see Werewolf By Night. For that matter, she could be part of Blade.

82. WOLVERINE LIMITED SERIES #4 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Thanks to all the commotion with Hugh Jackman bringing Wolverine into the MCU, all those Logan keys are as hot as they have been in years. Since the early appearances in Hulk #181 and Giant-Size X-Men #1 are already holy grails, it sends buyers on the trail of some more affordable keys.

Inevitably, that leads to the 1982 Wolverine limited series. Completionists have long wanted all four issues, but now more speculators and investors are putting their stock into the entire series rather than only the illustrious first issue. Finding Wolverine #4 in the Hottest Comics is a testament to that fact.

93. THOR #134 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The latest trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have put a bigger spotlight on the High Evolutionary and his prized creation, Counter-Earth. It is naturally sending buyers on the trail of his first appearance in Thor #134.

Will he play a larger part in the MCU afterward? It is highly unlikely that HE will survive the events of the film, which very much puts a ceiling on the values. However, between now and then, it is time for sellers to make their profits.

96. WOLVERINE #8 (NEW TO THE LIST)

On the topic of the Wolverine hype, we have one of the most famous covers from his first ongoing series. Younger readers may not recognize the pose that Hulk and Wolverine are striking on the cover. It’s an homage to the action-comedy, Twins. In this case, Wolverine is playing the part of Danny DeVito while Hulk is striking his best Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The bigger picture is whether or not we will ever see Hulk and Logan square off on the big screen. Over the years, Jackman has been clear that he wants to see that take place, and Deadpool 3 could set the stage for that epic battle.
