A Mickey Mouse variant is climbing the charts this week while a Deadpool 3 rumor is fueling speculation for Punisher War Journal #6.

There’s so much more to the Hottest Comics index than just the top 10. While those may be the attention grabbers, it could pay dividends to dig deeper and see what could be the next wave in collecting.

38. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #17 PASTROVICCHIO DISNEY 100 EDITION (+31)

If nothing else, the latest volume of Amazing Spider-Man has been marked by highly collectible variant editions. In recent months, Eminem’s Marvel cover debut on ASM #1 has been the belle of the ball. This week, another variant has entered the mix. Drawn by Pastrovicchio, the artwork features classic Disney characters in an homage to Avengers #4 to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary.

Unlike that ASM #1 variant, you can find ASM #17 on eBay for basically cover price.

58. STAR WARS: HEIR TO THE EMPIRE #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The Mandalorian season three is upon us, and that raises awareness for all things Star Wars. While Mando’s first comic appearance as well as the debut of Mandalore and Boba Fett are feeling the heat, so are the key issues for other characters with Mandalorian potential.

Grand Admiral Thrawn has been cast for Ahsoka, but he was name-dropped in Mando’s second season. That leads to speculation that he could appear in the third season before becoming the primary villain in Ahsoka.

48. SIMPSONS COMICS AND STORIES (NEW TO THE LIST)

In 1993, The Simpsons had taken pop culture by storm. After premiering on The Tracey Ullman Show before getting their own spotlight in 1989, they quickly became a mainstream sensation on the fledgling Fox Network.

By the early ‘90s, The Simpsons had become a household name. It was only natural that they made their way across popular media, eventually landing in their first comic series with Simpsons Comics and Stories #1.

75. TALES OF SUSPENSE #94 (NEW TO THE LIST)

It’s only been two weeks since Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hit theaters, and it is already headed toward record-breaking figures. Unfortunately for the Scott Lang gang, his third adventure is setting the worst kinds of marks and is generally regarded as Marvel’s worst yet.

One of the biggest complaints has been the depiction of M.O.D.O.K., who looked much too like Mr. Electric from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl for most fans. That’s why it is a bit surprising that his first appearance in Tales of Suspense #94 is still making moves on the Hottest Comics index.

97. PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #6 (NEW TO THE LIST)

There’s a new rumor making the rounds that Jon Bernthal will suit up once again as the Punisher for Deadpool 3. That is surely what’s driving sales for Punisher War Journal #6, which featured Logan and Frank Castle meeting in Vietnam.

It sounds like a long shot, but with Wade Wilson traversing the Multiverse, it’s quite possible he will venture into the Netflix-verse. After all, it’s still not clear if all of The Defenders’ saga is part of the MCU or just Daredevil. That would make for a great joke if Deadpool were to stumble into the Punisher’s live-action show or any of the outcast ABC series.

Personally, I want to see Wade cross paths with the Inhumans and take a few verbal jabs at that awful show.
