85 years after The Wizard of Oz dazzled audiences for the first time, director Jon. M. Chu takes us back to the enchanting world of Oz. Wicked, originally a book by Gregory Maguire and released in 1995, takes a look at what made the Wicked Witch of the West so wicked. The book was the start of The Wicked Years series, which includes;

  • Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

  • Son of a Witch

  • A Lion Among Men

  • Out of Oz

This revisionist series would go on to inspire the Broadway hit Wicked in 2003. For years talks of a Wicked movie adaptation was tossed about, until finally, on November 22, 2024, Wicked Part 1 began dazzling a broader scope of audience. This movie has had a lot of buzz surrounding it. Wicked also has a lot of merchandise tie-ins as well! Here's a look at some collectibles that could make your friends green with envy.

Wicked High Tops by Ground Up

We've seen IP and shoe collabs for years. Most IP collaborations all have one thing in common- they're expensive and out of reach for many collectors. Thankfully this Wicked high top by Ground Up comes in just under $30, making it a stylish and fun accessory for fans of Wicked. This high top blends green and pink with ease, and in green bold letters states "DEFY GRAVITY" on the heel of the shoe. This high-top blends fashion, fandom, and most importantly, comfort.

Wicked Stanley 40oz Tumbler

By now we all know how collectible Stanley cups are. No, not the hockey cup. The 40oz reusable stainless steel water cup has influencers in a tizzy. To the shock of no one, these tumblers sold out instantly. They routinely sell on eBay between $90 - $120, when they originally cost $55. If you do enjoy collecting cups, you may still be able to find the Starbucks Wicked reusable cups at your local Starbucks. The coffee chain offers six different styles of hot and cold cups to franchise fans. Starbucks is also offering two limited-edition drinks based on Glinda and Elphaba.

LEGO Wicked Elphaba and Glinda Figures

It should come as no surprise that LEGO would have a few sets based on the movie. I am absolutely charmed by this figure set, which is based on the well-known 'Defying Gravity' scene. Kids and adults alike can recreate the scene, or add in their own flair. LEGO has four unique Wicked sets available for builders, and will likely become harder to find after the movie is released. LEGO sets are unique collector's pieces and have a dedicated and loyal fanbase.

Wicked Popcorn Buckets

It should come as no surprise that there would be a few popcorn buckets for Wicked. Regal has, in my opinion, the best offerings for fans. Regal is offering a buffet of collectibles, including an Elphaba hat cup and lantern popcorn bucket. Cinemark comes in a close second with their Flying Monkey plushies, which are downright adorable.

Wicked Fashion Dolls by Mattel

Of course, I can't talk about collectibles without mentioning the Mattel Wicked line. This line recently made waves for having a shocking misprint that took unsuspecting kids (and yes, even adults) to an adult website. The dolls have all since been pulled from shelves but are - to the surprise of no one - going for big bucks on eBay. If you are a doll collector I would still wait for these to be re-released as they are beautifully detailed and just plain fun.
