Oni Press presents a first look at SKIN POLICE #1 – Jordan Thomas & Daniel Gete's adrenaline-fueled new series that leaves no one unscarred.

The press release follows:

Media Release -- Oni Press – the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning publisher of groundbreaking comics and graphic novels since 1997– proudly unveils the first look inside the violent and visceral SKIN POLICE #1 (of 4) – kicking off a four-issue powder keg of sci-fi/action spectacle from riveting writer Jordan Thomas (The Man from Maybe, Mugshots) and dangerously talented artist Daniel Gete (Über) coming to comic shops everywhere October 2nd!

In the year 2142, fertility levels around the globe plummeted, and a black market for illegal clone babies emerged. Millions of parents used their own genetic material to welcome these new children, only realizing the horrific consequences far too late. At some point in their life cycle, three in four of these genetic duplicates transform into psychologically unstable killing machines known as "dupes." Fortunately, the United Nations of Europe has decided to take an active role in containing the growing threat. Their specialized task force has taken up the unenviable task of hunting dupes before their violence can spread. To the government, they're the Duplicate Identification and Capture Division. To everyone else, they're the "Skin Police." The worst part of the job? It's always the one you least suspect . . .

"What if we lived in a society filled with ticking time bombs that could go off without warning at any moment? " asks author Jordan Thomas. "Now imagine these lurking vessels of death and destruction also had hopes, dreams, feelings, and emotions. That is the setup for Skin Police. A world where illegal clones live amongst us often not knowing what they are or how close they are to 'popping' and turning into adrenaline-fueled, hallucinating, violent maniacs.

"The ethical conundrum around a special government task force given permission to deal with these unfortunate creations by any means necessary, even though for all intents and purposes they are as human as the people sent to end their existence, sits at the root of our new action-packed sci-fi series. The questions superstar agent Brisson Eckis is forced to confront as terrible truths come to light set the fuse for a story packed with constant peril, government conspiracies, and impossible choices all set in a future Europe dictatorship where no one can be trusted and your best friend could turn into your worst enemy in a split second."

Featuring a barrage of covers from Daniel Gete (Über), Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects), Adam Pollina (X-Force), and Shaky Kane (The Bulletproof Coffin), no one escapes SKIN POLICE #1 – in comic shops everywhere October 2nd!

About the Creators

Daniel Gete set aside his pursuit of a degree in architecture to follow his true love: comics! He holds an Illustration and Animation Degree from Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional (ESDIP) in Madrid. After working as a graphic designer for Xplane, and as an illustrator in video game development, Daniel received his first assignment as an artist for Avatar Press on the Absolution: Rubicon limited series. He also pencilled the web series Crossed: Dead or Alive written by Garth Ennis as well as Uber and Uber: Invasion by Kieron Gillen.

Jordan Thomas hails from the South of England but is currently living in Valencia, Spain. His first published comics work was the 1920s post-war, farm-based horror series, Frank At Home On The Farm. Since then he has written a sci-fi short for the Oni Press XINO anthology and the alien world crime story, Weird Work, at Image Comics, both with Shaky Kane as well as the UK crime epic Mugshots at Mad Cave Studios. He likes dogs, swimming, and swimming with dogs.
