Judging from the total number of views on YouTube (18 million views on Amazon MGM Studios' channel alone and over 40 million across multiple channels in just 48 hours) and the initial reactions from YouTubers such as Gina Ippolito from New Rockstars and Ryan Arey from ScreenCrush, the new trailer for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a hit for its production design and cartoon accurate costumes (but not for casting Jared Leto).
The film is currently scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
With over 20 sales of DC Comics Presents #47 on eBay in the two days since the trailer was released, the collectibles market is also responding favorably to the trailer. DC Comics Presents #47, of course, includes the first appearances of He-Man and Skeletor in a traditional comic book format, and is a major key from the Bronze Age included in GoCollect's Bronze Age CPI.
Still, while the sales volume for this issue has popped in recent days, the value of a CGC 9.8 copy of DC Comics Presents #47 has generally been consolidating over the past 12 months with the 30-day sales average of $1,224 dipping substantially from its 1-year sales average of $1,385:
In fact, when I wrote about the He-Man film nearly a year ago in March 2025 after news about the film's cast had been released, I wrote that the "30- and 90-day averages of $1,875 for a CGC 9.8 are about 50% higher than the 1-year average of $1,269." That bounce didn't last long with values dropping lower than the 1-year not long after. In fact, the most recent sale of a 9.8 was only $1,150 on January 22:
The FMV of a CGC 9.8 newsstand edition of DC Comics Presents #47 is $2,400.
It appears as though the trailer has had an impact on other He-Man related collectibles, including Masters of the Universe #1 which is new to GoCollect's Hottest Comics Bronze Age list at #12. This minor key issue is the first in a three-issue limited series published by DC. Since the trailer's release, five CGC 9.8s copies of this issue have sold with all of those sales at or above its FMV of $270:
If you review GoCollect's "stock ticker" for a 9.8 of this issue, you'll see a gradual, but clear, upward trend line since late 2023. This slow trend over a two-year period could be a promising indicator for the future value of this issue.
We also saw a big sale for a CGC 8.5 copy of He-Man and the Power Sword, a mini-comic book that was included in the packages for the original Masters of the Universe toys in December 1981, and predates DC Comics Presents #47. Graded copies of this book are extremely rare; there are only 37 Universal blue label copies of this issue on the CGC Census (that is, however, nearly a 50% leap in blue labels since March 2025 when there were only 26 Universal blue labels). This 8.5 copy sold for an impressive $600:
This was an impressive sale, but is likely an outlier since it's more than double what this CGC 9.2 copy sold for just four months ago in late September 2025:
