Regardless of whether you love it or hate it, you can't deny that the MCU still drives a large volume of comic book sales. If you enjoy collecting comic books related to the MCU (like much of the current market), take a look at some of the comics PWCC has up for its weekly auction ending on April 30th.
PWCC is auctioning the first appearance of the Red Guardian (who will appear again in the 2024 Thunderbolts film), the first cover appearance of the Kingpin (who will appear in the 2024 Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ series), and the first appearance of Rama-Tut (who will appear in Avengers: Kang Dynasty).
Avengers #43 (Marvel, 1967) CGC 4.0
Personally, even though his character was different than the Red Guardian we first saw in Avengers #43, David Harbour's take on the character in 2021's Black Widow. We know Harbour is returning as the Red Guardian in 2024's Thunderbolts.
During the past six months, the sales price of a 4.0 copy of this book issue has sold for around $80. For example, on April 26th, one buyer purchased a 4.0 for $78 through an auction hosted by eBay. On October 28th, another 4.0 sold for $79 through an auction hosted by Goldin. According to GoCollect, the FMV for a 4.0 is $100. As of Friday, April 28th, the current bid on PWCC is $62.
Amazing Spider-Man #51 (Marvel, 1967) CGC 4.0
Personally, I think this book is undervalued. While the market clearly prefers Amazing Spider-Man #50 due to its iconic cover, as a Kingpin fan, I actually prefer #51 for a few reasons. Kingpin only appears on three pages in Amazing Spider-Man #50, doesn't interact with Spider-Man at all, and doesn't appear on its cover. In Amazing Spider-Man #51, he's the central figure in the story and appears on a cover for the first time. It's a classic cover. Plus, we know we'll see Kingpin against near year when he squares off against Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again.
During the past two months, the sales price of a 4.0 copy of this book issue has also varied quite a bit. For example, on March 5th, one buyer got a 4.0 for a great price -- $86 -- through an auction hosted by eBay. That sale is definitely an outlier, however; 4.0s have typically sold in $139 to $199 range. And, according to GoCollect, the FMV for a 4.0 is $130. As of Friday, April 8th, the current bid on PWCC is only $76. Right now, that looks like a great price.
Fantastic Four #19 (Marvel, 1963) CGC 2.0
As most collectors know, Rama-Tut, who first appears in this issue, is a variant of Kang the Conqueror. And because Marvel published Fantastic Four #19 before it published Avengers #8, you could make the argument that Fantastic Four #19 should be considered the first appearance of Kang. Of course, the market still prefers Avengers #8 for several reasons including the fact that Rama-Tut wasn't originally intended to be a variant of Kang, but was later retconned to be Kang. We, of course, see this variant of Kang during the post-credits scene in Ant-Man: Quantumania.
During the past two months, the sales price of a 2.0 copy of this book issue has varied quite a bit. For example, on January 27th, one buyer purchased a 2.0 for $270 through a fixed-price sale on eBay. Just a week earlier, two buyers purchased 2.0s for only $168 and $160. According to GoCollect, the FMV for a 2.0 is $280. As of Friday, April 28th, the current bid on PWCC was $135.
