Media Release -- Fan-favorite publisher TwoMorrows Publishing has entered into an exclusive agreement with Lunar Distribution to provide its line of magazines and books to the Direct Market of comic book specialty stores. The partnership is effective immediately, starting with new issues of Alter Ego (#192), RetroFan (#37), and Back Issue (#158) scheduled for release in February and March 2025. Lunar's FOC (Final Order Cutoff) date for these titles is February 10, with an in-store date of February 26.
Retailers that have already placed Direct Market orders for these and other new TwoMorrows product not already received, will need to reorder those items from Lunar, as existing Diamond orders for new product will be cancelled. Retailers that don't already have an account with Lunar should contact the distributor at [email protected]. A list of items that will be cancelled by Diamond, and must be reordered through Lunar, is attached.
TwoMorrows' other magazine titles will follow, beginning with issues scheduled to arrive in stores from April-onward (Comic Book Creator #38, Jack Kirby Collector #93, Cryptology #3, and BrickJournal #89), along with new printings of the company's 1965-1969 and 1980s volumes of their American Comic Book Chronicles hardcover series, and other books announced for 2025 debuts. These and other new items that were previously listed in Diamond's Previews catalog will be available for ordering starting with the March 2025 issue of Lunar's Next Phase catalog (#39).
This decision wasn't made lightly, but the move was determined by publisher John Morrow to be in his longstanding company's best interest. "For over 30 years, we've had a wonderfully devoted fan base for our publications, and have enjoyed a great working relationship with Diamond Comic Distributors during that time. But due to their bankruptcy, we've had to absorb substantial losses for payments owed on our late 2024 and early 2025 releases. While I fervently hope Diamond can recover from this, our new agreement with Lunar is not just our most secure option to keep producing and getting our products into customers' hands, it's also ripe with new opportunities to better service comics retailers, and market our products more effectively. TwoMorrows is proud to join Lunar as an exclusive client alongside DC Comics, Image Comics, and others."
Lunar Distribution co-owner Christina Merkler likewise sees the agreement as a "win" for both companies. While this agreement immediately affects new Direct Market products, retailer orders for O/A (Offered Again) products and backlist items already solicited through Diamond's November-February Previews catalog will still be filled by Diamond Comic Distributors, and Diamond Book Distributors will continue providing the bookstore market with TwoMorrows' books.
