"I loved Moo Mesa as a kid—Dakota Dude was my favorite!" said artist Juan Gedeon. "The heroes looked badass but still kind, which I found awesome. I wanted to be like them when I grew up. Now that I'm 38, it's wild realizing the real villains were the sheriff and the mayor, the people who should actually protect the citizens. Thank God that only happens in cartoons, right? Bringing these characters to life has been the most fun I've had in years. Matt's scripts are amazing, I laughed out loud several times while reading them. Getting the faces right nearly broke me—I spent full days stuck on just one, but now I finally got the hang of it…I think! I'm aiming to create a book that hits for both lifelong fans and kids who've never heard of Moo Mesa—something that captures the heart of the original but levels it up for a new generation."
