If searches on eBay can serve as any kind of leading indicator, Pokémon clearly reigns supreme among collectibles with searches for Pokémon cards ranking #1 on eBay in 2025. Before we say goodbye to the year behind us, let's take a look at which of those Pokémon cards sold the most often in 2025 using GoCollect's Hottest Pokémon Cards tool. The Hottest Pokémon Cards measure popularity not by fair market value, but by sales volume. In other words, these are the Pokémon cards that sold the most often in 2025 regardless of their sales price. There tends to be a large amount of supply and demand for these hottest cards.

Without further ado, here are the Top Ten Pokémon cards that sold the most often in 2025:

1. Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat (85/148) - Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos

2. Charizard ex (199/165) - 151

3. Charizard (4/102) - Base (Unlimited)

4. Magneton (159/165) - Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos

5. Mew ex (53/148) - Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos

6. Charmander (44/148) - Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos

7. Ancient Mew (1/1) Miscellaneous Promos

8. Pikachu (160/159) - Crown Zenith

9. Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno GX (SM210) - SM Black Star Promos

10. Blastoise ex (200/165) - 151

There were nearly 3,000 public sales of PSA 10 copies of Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat in 2025.

It comes as no surprise that Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat from the Scarlet & Violet era sits at #1 on the 2025 Hottest Cards list. This card has dominated the sales volume chart throughout the entire year with only the Charizard ex occasionally challenging it for the top spot. There's a huge amount of supply and demand for this card. For instance, even though the card was recently released in 2023, there are already 45,452 PSA 10 copies of this card on PSA's Population Report. In spite of this huge supply, there's huge demand as well. Through December 24, there have been 2,880 publicly recorded sales of PSA 10 copies of this card in 2025. Although the FMV of a PSA 10 has cooled off a bit during the past few months, it still sells for a premium. The 30-day average sale of a PSA 10 is an impressive $1,397:

If I had to pick a single Card of the Year, Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat would be it.

Other modern Pokémon cards dominated the Top 10 of 2025.

Other cards from the Scarlet & Violet era also dominated the Hottest cards list. These modern Pokémon cards captured most collector activity in 2025, with six of the top ten most-sold Pokémon cards coming from the current Scarlet & Violet era. Four of those cards were Black Star Promos, a promotional series of Pokémon cards. These cards, which can be identified by their black star promo symbol, can't be randomly pulled by opening standard booster packs; instead, they were included in specific boxed products (e.g., Elite Trainer Boxes), as exclusives from retailers (e.g., Target or GameStop), or at promotional events.

Unlike rare chase cards, and like the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat, there's a huge supply of these promotional cards available for purchase or trading. There are already over 100,000 PSA graded copies of the 2023 Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat card and nearly 6,000 CGC-graded copies. There are over 84,000 PSA-graded copies of the Charizard ex card and nearly 5,000 CGC-graded copies. Even a less popular Pokémon like the Magneton Black Star Promo card has been graded 32,188 times by PSA. This huge supply of graded copies likely explains why so many of them were bought and sold in 2025.
